Overview

The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant program allocates $10 million each biennium to defray start-up costs associated with the development of career and technical education programs to public community and technical colleges, and independent school districts. Formerly under the direction of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, legislation passed by the 84th Texas Legislature transferred oversight of the state-funded program to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The advisory board assists TWC in the administration of these grants.
