Supplemental Guidance Materials

Supplemental Guidance Materials, an appendix of guidance materials is added to the end of the manual. The appendix contains charts, examples, and other guidance materials to help providers implement the standards contained in the manual.

2.2 Staff Qualifications/Job Placement Specialist, revised title from "placement specialist" to "job placement specialist."

Chapter 10: Standards for Durable Medical Equipment

Revised to update the term "Durable Medical Goods" to "Durable Medical Equipment" throughout the chapter. Also, section 10.3 Documentation and Fees is revised to delete language on computation of the DARS maximum payment to providers for durable medical equipment.

1.8 Staff/Director, revised to establish or extend deadlines for CRP staff to obtain certain qualifications and credentials.

1.11 Record Keeping/Consumer Case Records, revised to clarify description of records to be maintained by DARS DRS CRP providers.

1.13 Program Evaluation/Consumer Satisfaction, revised to provide guidelines for CRPs when gathering consumer satisfaction information.

Chapter 7: Program Standards for Centers for Independent Living

7.1 Centers for Independent Living/General Definitions, to note that DBS and DRS are Designated State Units (as defined by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) in Texas.

7.3 CIL Documentation and Requirements/Clear Priorities, to state that CILs must have written documentation of their annual and three-year planning objectives.

7.6 Required Reports, to add hyperlinks to a new table summarizing CILs' reporting requirements (see 8.3 Grant Reporting Requirements/Summary of Reporting Requirements)

1.8 Staff, Service Provider Qualifications, revised to add regional CRP specialists as recipients of the DARS3455, Community Rehabilitation Program Staff Information form, when new staff members are hired by providers. An additional revision adds the regional CRP specialists as recipients of information regarding significant changes to job duties or termination of a CRP staff member who provides services to DARS consumers.
