AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jeffrey Tallas of Sugar Land to the Brazos River Authority Board of Directors for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The authority is responsible for developing and conserving the surface water resources of the Brazos River Basin. -

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Joseph Croci of Bee Cave and Ford Keating of Austin to the Texas Skill Standards Board for terms to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The board facilitates and promotes the use of industry-developed skill standards for major skilled occupations, such as machinists, database administrators and air conditioning technicians. -

AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and House Speaker Joe Straus today sent a letter directing the process by which each state agency will develop its legislative appropriations request for the 2012-2013 biennial budget. Those requests will be submitted to the governor and Legislative Budget Board between August 2 and 30. The letter also directs agencies to submit a supplemental schedule detailing how they would reduce their baseline request by an additional 10 percent (in five percent increments) in general revenue-related funding. -

With their decision to take control of a permitting process that the Clean Air Act allows to be delegated to the states, the EPA is on the verge of killing thousands of Texas jobs and derailing a program that has cleaned Texas’ air." -
