You can now check the status of your TWC appeal using TWC’s online Unemployment Benefits Services. Log on and select “Appeals Status” to find current information about your appeal.
Individuals who served in the military and recently left the service can apply for unemployment benefits using TWC’s online Unemployment Benefits Services. You should apply immediately after separating from the military. Make sure you have your DD214 (Member Copy 4 through 8 acceptable) when you apply.
Beginning May 12, 2012, TWC can no longer pay federally funded Extended Benefits (EB) because of the improving unemployment rate in Texas. EB paid up to an additional 13 weeks of Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits. Individuals currently receiving Extended Benefits will no longer receive benefits for weeks of unemployment after May 12, 2012.
TWC will mail letters notifying individuals who are receiving EB that their benefits will end on May 12, 2012.
TWC will continue to take new claims for Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and pay benefits under EUC Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
