Quickfile User's Guide

Welcome

QuickFile is the Texas Workforce Commission's online wage reporting program that accommodates those users who have in excess of 500 employees to report or want to report more than one employer's wage report at a time. QuickFile enables employers and/or their representatives to file quarterly tax reports over the Internet.

An accountant, bookkeeper or service agent can ensure that their clients' reports are filed timely by using QuickFile. The time, money and energy spent preparing and mailing the employer's quarterly report is greatly reduced.

QuickFile reporters should submit their tax reports as early in the reporting month as possible. This allows plenty of time for error identification and correction. The report may be tested prior to submission by simply validating the data and clicking on View Summary of Report. If this is the first time to submit a QuickFile report using this version, you might consider submitting the data using the Test option.

QuickFile also accepts late and prior quarter reports. The program will accept up to 12 quarters of data (the most recently completed quarter plus the preceding 11 quarters).

QuickFile does not calculate taxable wages for the user. The user's payroll program must do the calculation. QuickFile validates that the information is in the correct format and provides confirmation that transmission has been received by TWC on the QuickFile History page (Status Accepted). Employers can verify receipt of a tax report the following day through Unemployment Tax Services.
