Evidence-based grant making uses evidence to allocate funds for competitive grant programs.

Why Does TWC Use Evidence-Based Grant Making?

Job training programs can make a big difference in people's lives. They help people find good jobs that match their skills and talents, which can lead to a better future. TWC supports programs that are effective in helping people succeed in their careers.

To do this, TWC uses evidence-based grant making. This means looking at data to see what works best for a given program. Texas’ tiered evidence approach (see resources below) links grant funds to outcomes and supports effective programs. It also supports programs with new approaches, even if those ideas have not been tested in the field.
